About the Estate

In Tanzania’s lush northern interior, within an amphitheatre of world famous views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and the Maasai Steppe, one thousand acres is being carefully developed into Kilimanjaro Golf and Wildlife Estate, affectionately known as ‘Kiligolf’ by residents and locals.

The gentle contours of the land and the abundance of indigenous plants and trees set within this compass of truly spectacular views provide a wonderful canvas for the creation of a very special place.

The introduction of the golf course is opening up avenues of green through the bush, creating verdant space at the very heart of the estate for everyone to enjoy and cherish.

No one is sure, but the Maasai say the word ‘Kilimanjaro’ comes from Maa and means ‘mountain of water’.  The summit of Africa’s highest mountain rises above Kilimanjaro Golf and Wildlife Estate, the ridges and snow-fields visible on a clear morning and most evenings.

It is these vistas – of Mount Kilimanjaro, the crater of Mount Meru, the endless expanses of the Maasai Steppe – that make the estate so unique, both as an investment opportunity and, quite simply, a beautiful piece of Africa.
