This house has been designed with four large bedrooms. The entrance portico, aligned on the building’s central axis, is flanked by the outbuildings containing the double garage and the guest suite. Across the courtyard, the sliding louvre-shuttered doors spanning the entire length of the open plan lounge and dining room frame the view beyond. The steeply pitched, exposed-rafter roof construction with dormer windows above the lounge and dining room ensures the interior remains cool and comfortable. All four bedroom suites open up directly out to the bush, with security, sun screening and ventilation similarly provided by full-width sliding louvre screens over the sliding doors. Two of the bedrooms include screened outdoor showers. In the enclosed courtyard a barbeque area under a timber pergola adjacent to the kitchen enables secure outdoor dining and entertainment, while an infinity pool projecting out beyond the building enclosure, complete with fire pit, allows the bush experience even on hot nights.
