A prestigious and spacious four-bedroom house designed around a central courtyard. With a grand master suite and three luxurious bedroom suites, all with fully-appointed bathrooms, fireplaces, and private verandas with screened outdoor showers and shading pergolas, this house has the feel of a private lodge.
Entering through the raised portico positioned on the building’s central axis, splitting the twin double garages, the courtyard opens up across the plunge pool at your feet, stretching the courtyard’s full width.
A pergola over the verandas wraps around the entire perimeter of the courtyard, broken only by the roof of the main lounge directly opposite, projecting into the courtyard and drawing one’s eye through the lounge with its wide sliding doors to the African bush beyond. Taking the steps down to the right, one enters into the private sector of the courtyard, with the entrance doors to the bedrooms.
Turning to the left, one enters down into the public area of the house, with a vestibule on the far corner clearly delineating public and private sectors. Passing through the sliding doors spanning the full width either side of the dining room, the public areas of the house open up.
This house has been designed for entertaining, with the open-plan kitchen, dining room and informal lounge/TV room opening up to the shaded decks wrapping around the outer perimeter of the building. The barbeque area deck outside the dining room leads round to a very generous seating area set into the corner intersection of the building.
Continuing around the corner and heading back indoors through sliding doors, one enters the bar, positioned to serve not only the deck and informal lounge, but also the main lounge beyond the bar’s backwall. A poolside firepit completes the entertainment areas. The guest bathroom includes a shower, and a separate scullery behind the open-plan kitchen opens onto an enclosed yard giving access to the staff quarters.
